Well, we missed our flight :(

Seriously.  What a day at the airport yesterday…..the word “stress” doesn’t even begin to describe it.  In honor of that, I think we need to pull up this picture again:
Let’s just say it takes a lot longer to get through security and to get to your gate when you have twins in a double stroller.  (Think: finding & waiting….and waiting….and waiting….. on the elevators in the airport…..a nameless toddler SCREAMING every time the elevator doors closed out of sheer terror, security not knowing if the stroller will fit through their screening devices, etc, etc…)  It was a real fun-fest.  Actually, Kindred got to the gate EXACTLY when the flight was supposed to leave.  (He RAN up the escalator with our carryons to get to the gate.  I, on the other hand, was waiting, waiting, waiting on the elevator to arrive to take the twins & I to our gate)….  When the elevator FINALLY got us to our level and the doors opened, I ran like a mad woman down the terminal to meet Kindred (not knowing we had missed the flight).  Looking back I can laugh.  At the time, however, it was far from funny (although I am sure it was to onlookers)…..This crazed mommy- drenched with sweat- literally RUNNING down the terminal pushing a double stroller with screaming toddlers, with a very large backpack bouncing up and down on my back as I ran.  I might end up on youtube and go viral if someone caught that.  Quite sure it made for a good laugh.

Thank goodness for the merciful people at US Airways.  (And there was also a new friend we met- Eddie- who had also missed the flight.  He had been at the gate 5 minutes before us, as he saw the plane taking off…. so we ended up bonding for life through that experience)   I think US Airways felt sorry for all 3 of us (plus the hysterically crying twins), and put us on a Delta flight for no additional charge.  AND it was non-stop, whereas our other one had a short layover, so we actually got to LA about 1 1/2 hours EARLIER than we would have.  Woo-Hoo!!

Good nite from LA!

Good nite from LA!

Good night from Los Angeles, everyone-

Shopping for the Red Carpet….

First of all- I have to say that I am sure I looked hilarious yesterday trying to find something appropriate for a night out in LA.  I did get advice, asking someone what a “non-famous” person wears to a premiere.  Cause, let’s face it…that’s us. Their fashion advice?  Wear something you would wear for a night out on the town.

Seriously?  Do you have ANY idea what a “night out on the town” consists of when you are an exhausted mommy of 5?  Pretty sure it includes either going to a birthday party at Chuck-E-Cheese, or a late evening out at a 6 yr. old’s baseball game.  And the “night cap?” Usually stumbling into bed utterly exhausted by 10pm…. (And I KNOW all you mommies out there can relate!! ) ;)

So, after deep thought, I concluded that no outfit that I would wear to one of our exciting nights on the town would quite be appropriate.  So, I dragged myself to the mall. (Am I the only mommy who only goes to the mall once a year, and that involves pictures with Santa??)  Well, needless to say, I found some wonderful salespeople at several stores who took pity on me, and helped me out greatly.  (Shout out to my new friends at Macy’s, Charlotte Russe, and Frederick’s of Hollywood!!).  Yep.  Frederick’s of Hollywood.  Don’t get too excited though….just went there to get a nice little item that is my new best friend…..let’s just say that it helps hide all of the (many!) imperfections that have come w/ 3 c-sections, and not enough time at the gym. My premiere outfit will look better on me now. Nuff said.

These are the shoes I got.  Image

Seriously.  I look extra hilarious trying to walk in them.  (Prayers and good vibes sent my way for Monday evening would be much appreciated) :)   Please God, don’t let me trip and fall at the premiere.  Amen.

P.S. The Marietta Daily Journal ran a story on our family today.  You can check it out here: http://mdjonline.com/view/full_story/18490068/article-Twins-beat-the-odds–hit-the-big-screen-with-Jennifer-Lopez?instance=lead_story_left_column

We Have NEWS!!!!!

Well, been wanting to shout this out in bloggy world the last 24 hours, but had to make sure it was really going to happen….

We have OFFICIALLY been invited to the premiere of What to Expect When You’re Expecting!!!!!!!  Seriously…it is even addressed “Dear Kindred and Meredith!”    Is it TOTALLY politically incorrect if I pee in my pants right about now?!?!?!?

SO, now…we have to be in Los Angeles NEXT Monday, the 14th.  Anyone know anyone who wants to donate frequent flyer miles to a needy family?? (**only partially kidding there!**)  I can even offer to give you a kidney or something…… :)

Well, we will figure it out…..and we are just so thrilled to be along for the ride…….AND, if we are allowed to take pics, I PROMISE I will post some!!

Can you BELIEVE this?!??!

Happy Friday, Everyone!!

Yippee!!
